For February, weโ€™re celebrating dogs. This issue has certainly challenged me to come up with various styles for dogs, while presenting them in realism.

At the heart of the issue is this Periodic Table of Dogs โ€“ which was originally meant to function as the content page for the magazine issue (we didnโ€™t get to it). We also explore how different AI-generated photo shoots can turn our furry friends into models, icons, and even surreal subjects.

๐Ÿ“ธ Minimalist Studio Dog Photography

This month, we experimented with fashion-style photo shoots for dogs, and this particular style stood out.

๐Ÿ“Œ Prompt:
"Minimalistic studio shoot for an old dog, old giant dog is grey and brown, full body shot of an old giant resting on a pastel block, studio set-up with minimal pastel colour backdrop, minimalistic style with plain background, in the style of fashion photography."

๐Ÿ“Œ Prompt:
"Minimalistic studio shoot for a dog, dog is a French Bulldog, full body shot of French Bulldog sitting calmly, studio set-up with minimal colour backdrop, minimalistic style with plain background, in the style of fashion photography."

Final Thoughts on This Issue

Creativity & Constraints โ€“ By limiting the style, I had to work around the available poses, props, and compositions to bring out the story for each section of the magazine. Constraints can fuel creativity, pushing the boundaries of storytelling and visual execution.

Living with Imperfection โ€“ There are plenty of things I want to refine in this issue:
โœ” Stronger storytelling
โœ” Better integration of the Periodic Table into the pages
โœ” Higher-resolution photos
โœ” A clearer, more impactful message

But these will have to wait. A revised edition may come later, but for now, Iโ€™m moving forward to the next issue โ€“ which will be a two-month project, giving me time to properly research, plan, and refine the execution.
